Stephen Overell is an associate director at The Work Foundation. He is a regular commentator on work and labour market affairs and the author of several papers including “Inwardness: The Rise of Meaningful Work” (April 2008), “Work and the Human Claim to Uniqueness” (December 2008) and “Paradigm Trades: The Iconic Jobs of the 21st Century” (August 2006).

Between 1998 and 2006, he was a journalist, writing about work, employment and management, principally for the Financial Times, but for many others including Prospect, the Guardian and The Evening Standard. Currently he is leading a project examining the quality of working life called “The Good Work Commission”.
