Bishopsgate Institute

Bishopsgate Institute is proud to support the Battle of Ideas conference 2007. The Institute has been a centre of debate for over 100 years, and our library and archive collections represent figures and organisations at the cutting edge of political and social discourse in the 19th and 20th centuries. Bishopsgate Institute is currently developing its programme of topical debates to continue and strengthen this tradition, and we are delighted to be undertaking this in partnership with the Institute of Ideas.

 Festival Buzz

"Participating in the Battle was a little like entering a Bombay train at rush hour - it's a plunge into a swirl of wildly differing notions of how people should arrange themselves in a really tight situation. When you eventually emerge, you find that you're in a different place from where you started - and that you've been thoroughly energised from the journey. I can't wait to take the trip again next year."
