Dennis Hayes

Dennis Hayes is Professor of Education at the University of Derby where he leads the Changing Higher Education Research Cluster (CHER).

He is the founder and director of the campaign group Academics For Academic Freedom (AFAF) and his book The ‘Limits’ of Academic Freedom is to be published in autumn 2015.

Dennis is well-known for his educational writing and journalism and is a member of the editorial board of the Times Higher Education magazine. In February 2014 he became the first education columnist for the on-line magazine The Conversation.

He is also one of the organisers of the East Midlands Salon which meets regularly in Derby.
